Join the Vivace Operatic Trio as they take you through Baroque to 21st century operatic works. Selections to include arias from Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Handel’s Giulio Cesare, Menotti’s The Medium, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, various American Spirituals, and other works from composers such as Brahms and Fauré. This evening, each work will represent the most powerful of our emotions, hope. Come to feel hurt and restored, lost and found, alone and loved, come to feel hope.
Vivace Soprano, Brittany Jones is a graduate from Bellarmine University with a degree in Music. She resides in Louisville, Kentucky. There she has performed selected works from Chicago as Velma Kelly, The Phantom of The Opera as Christine Daae, and Fiddler On The Roof as Tzeitel. She is also a participant in the Kentuckianna Association of Negro Musicians Spiritual Festival, as well as a featured vocalist for The Y.P.A.S. presentation of Faurs Requiem. She is the recipient of The 2012 Alltech Outstanding Award, the largest vocal competition in the United States. Brittany has performed in the Duan Juan Ensemble of The Phantom of The Opera, and as Suor Angelica in Puccini’s Suor Angelica. In Miss Jones’ last full length opera performance, she was the lead in Suor Angelica, where she earned great reviews and continued recognition. She is making great waves in the opera world and looks forward to her next performance.
Vivace Tenor, Zackery Morris, is thrilled for his debut performance in Indonesia! Mr. Morris is from Raleigh, North Carolina and now resides in Lexington, Kentucky where he is perusing a Masters in Music from the University of Kentucky. As a budding Leggiero Tenor, Mr. Morris is equally at home on the opera and the musical theatre stage with credits including Don Basilio in Mozart’s Le Nozze Di Figaro, Don Ramiro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Alfred in Die Fledermaus as well as the role of Pluto in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld. Mr. Morris’ crossover talents allowed for him to participate as an artist with the Ohio Light Opera for their 2012 Festival Season where he performed several works such as Guys & Dolls, The Mikado, A Connecticut Yankee, the North American Premier of Miss Springtime, Utopia Limited, and The Chocolate Solider. Mr. Morris has recently performed the role of Marius in Lexington’s groundbreaking performance of Les Miserables in 2013. Other than performing, Mr. Morris has a passion for teaching; his interest led him to travel to Europe with the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp as seventy singers performed the Brahm’s Ein Deutsches Requiem in France, Germany and Belgium.
Vivace Pianist is Dr. Scott Svoboda. A professional musician and educator, Dr. Svoboda has taught and performed throughout the United States and has served as a clinician, conductor, and assistant conductor for youth and adult ensembles. He earned his doctorate studying piano under the tutelage of world renown pedagogue G. Maurice Hinson. Dr. Svoboda also holds advanced degrees in education and educational administration.
