The sixties were in full swing at Marc Jacobs‘ Spring/Summer 2013 runway presentation. Crisp black and white combinations, graphic stripes and checks, thigh grazing minis and A-line silhouettes were featured in this Twiggy inspired collection. This was quite a departure from last season’s poetic and romantic theme.

For spring, the clothes were playful, flirty and upbeat. With mod hairdos, Cleopatra lids and eye-catching threads, Jacobs perfectly captured the spirit of the sixties with a contemporary flare. The esteemed designer showed a selection of floor, midi and mini length dresses, body suits, shirts with Mickey Mouse prints, ruffle embellished skirts and jackets.

He worked with neutral hues of grey, khaki, beige and brown, classic black and white as well as red. Skirts hung low to show off a little midriff, hemlines were ultra short and necklines varied from chest baring to neck gripping. Of course, he gave us a few of his perfect knee length dresses paired with polished totes that are sure to be an essential part of our spring wardrobe. However the majority of his presentation was refreshingly modern and breathed new life into the ever changing brand.
