“Istituto di Moda Burgo (IMB) Indonesia was opened by one of IMB Milan graduates, Jenny Yohana Kansil on August 1, 2011 in Jakarta and its the only one Italian International Fashion Institute in Indonesia.The rapid development of Fashion in Indonesia shows that in the future Indonesia has the opportunity to become the new fashion destination which is acclaimed  internationally, and especially in South east Asia.

The role of the local fashion designers will greatly affect the realization of these opportunities. In fact, graduation from a Fashion school that provides serious professional training  is highly recommended in the industry, to keep these designers updated on the advent of new techniques and technologies, and also help   them  acquire the secrets  of  the trade in this highly competitive Fashion world business.

IMB Indonesia is a solution for fashion education. With the mission to enhance the quality  of Indonesia fashion , IMB Indonesia exists to introduce characteristics of a prominent Italian craftsmanship: high taste for production, perfect sewing and pattern making techniques, which have not been presented in Indonesia through formal education.”

IMB Indonesia ‘s mission:

1. to increase the competent graduates whom are able to create innovation by combining Italian world-class design techniques, patterns, and sewing with Indonesian traditional culture and by becoming up to date with the needs of modern world fashion. It is time for Indonesia to further emphasize its own fashion identity. Fashion is beyond its practical function, it is also the idea of clothes that don’t function merely to protect the body, but also as a statement of individuality.
2. to enhance  Indonesian Fashion according to International standards, as well as to reach  the same European fashion reality.
3. Allow Jakarta to become, not only a business city, but a world landmark where anyone wishing to enter the fashion world can find all the opportunities.
