Fall Out Boy to Save Rock And Roll at Fort Canning Park
Singapore, May 9, 2013 Fans of Fall Out Boy must have heaved a collective sigh of relief when the American pop-punk band reunited for a much-awaited album release, Save Rock And Roll, and a tour.
The tour has been much anticipated, as evidenced by the sold-out venues all around the world.
If the recent online rave reviews of Fall Out Boys comeback are anything to go by, the band is still as tight as ever. And Singapore should be quivering with anticipation.
The band last performed in Singapore in February 2009 and it was one of their last live performances together.
Live! Empire is proud and eager to welcome Fall Out Boy back to Singapore on August 6, 2013.
Fall Out Boy originated from Chicago and emerged in the 2000s as one of the biggest band in pop-punk. Fall Out Boys line-up consists of Patrick Stump (rhythm guitar and vocals), Pete Wentz (bass), Andy Hurley (drums) and Joe Trohman (lead guitar). Their snarky lyrics and oh-so-wordy song titles made them unique and memorable and elevated them to superstardom.
Fall Out Boy debuted their first album in 2003, Take This To Your Grave and caught the attention of Island Records. The group then released the double-platinum album From Under the Cork Tree in 2005, which included top ten singles, Sugar, Were Going Down and Dance, Dance.
In 2007, Fall Out Boy released their third album Infinity on High. The album garnered major chart success. It contained hits like This Aint a Scene, Its an Arms Race, Thanks For the Memories and Golden.
After their 2008 album Folie à Deux, Fall Out Boy took a three-year hiatus. During that time, each member of the pop-punk band continued with their individual music projects Stump has a solo album Soul Punk, Wentz formed a ska/electropop band Black Cards and Trohman and Hurley formed the Damned Things, a heavy metal supergroup.
On February 4, 2013, Fall Out Boy announced their comeback with a new album, Save Rock and Roll, a tour and a new single. With almost instant success with songs like My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)and The Phoenix, this could very well be Fall Out Boys definitive album yet.
Fall Out Boy will be performing in Singapore on August 6, 2013 at Fort Canning. Tickets will be on sale at Sistic counters from May 21, 2013.
