From improvisations to classics
Adam Gyorgy makes a not-to-be-missed appearance in Jakarta this December. Regarded as one of the finest Liszt players in the world, and the Liszt ambassador in his home country, the virtuoso’s recitals have been described by the world’s press as sensitive, playful, elegant and warm.
Now resident in New York, the prestigious Steinway artist made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2008, and has since toured internationally, performing in Paris, New York, London, Singapore and Budapest.
Gyorgy’s inimitable style has won him a fanbase worldwide. In 2012, he opened the UEFA European Football Championship in Warsaw with a fun and unique interpretation of Chopin’s Winterwind, broadcast live to an audience of 300 million across the globe.
The pianist’s own charity, The Adam Gyorgy Foundation, has continued to establish connections between Asia and Europe and support young Indonesians. Since 2009, many Indonesian top piano students have benefited from master classes at his piano school at the Adam Gyorgy Castle Academy in Hungary.
Join the world-class Hungarian pianist as he performs his own improvisations A Day in New York, which premiered at Carnegie Hall in 2012, then he turns into virtuosic classical repertoire, which truly sets him aside from any other pianists of his generation.
“‘…a sparkling and rippling delivery of La Campanella…With the right packaging and promotion this young man could well have women swooning in his presence a la Franz Liszt in his heyday’—The Straits Times Singapore
‘…combines music with passion”—CNN World Report
“Gyorgy knows how to make a 12-foot concert grand sing… he could even give Pink Floyd a run for the money’”—Culture Catch New York
